**3.5 Hours Expedition** *(1.5 hour sunset puffin cruise on the water, immediately followed by 2 hours of searching for stranded pufflings on land)*

$250+hst for adults
$200+hst for children (ages 8-15)

*Requests to join us for only the sunset puffin cruise portion (on the water) for $150+hst (both adults & children 8-15) or only the puffling rescue patrol portion (on land) for $100+hst (or $50+hst for children accompanied by an adult) will be considered on a “standby” basis, subject to availability. That is, these requests may be honoured on short notice, or not at all if the seats fill up first with those who wish to participate in both portions. Experience Newfoundland's most unique wildlife conservation adventure. Each year, young Atlantic puffins—known as *pufflings*—leave their burrows for the first time and make their way to sea under the cover of darkness. While most successfully reach the ocean, some become disoriented by artificial lights and become stranded on land. With Wild Avalon Expeditions, you now have the opportunity to participate in rescuing these stranded pufflings under the guidance of an expert who can drive you to the best spots and show you how to safely capture and handle these adorable wayward birds, in addition to taking a relaxing sunset cruise to spend time with thousands of puffins in their native habitat – on the ocean. A puffin-lover’s dream!



Join puffin expert and ornithologist Dr. Taylor Brown for this hands-on conservation experience that allows you to both help and better appreciate these remarkable seabirds. The adventure begins with a relaxing 1.5-hour cruise in a small, intimate setting on a comfortable Zodiac. We will mingle quietly among thousands of Atlantic puffins near their breeding colony as they fly overhead, swim next to and under the boat, and catch fish for themselves and their chicks. Upon return to land at dusk, you will become a participant in the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society's **Puffin Patrol** program, with a two-hour guided evening excursion to search for and rescue stranded pufflings on their first journey to the ocean. Throughout the entire expedition, you will “become one” with the puffins as you learn all about their fascinating behaviour, biology, and conservation.

A portion of all proceeds from Puffin Extravaganza! tours go toward the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, to support the continued conservation of puffins and other important flora and fauna of our beautiful province.
